Last night on 205 Live, Mike Kanellis had a chance to earn a Cruiserweight title match at SummerSlam. All he had to do was defeat 205 Live General Manager, Drake Maverick, in a non-sanctioned bout. He wasn’t able to do it, however. After Kanellis had controlled much of the match, Maverick made a comeback and scored the pinfall.

Only Kanellis had a chance to earn a title shot in the match. Maverick has since said he has no plans to continue wrestling on 205 Live.

The match result leaves Cruiserweight champion Drew Gulak still without an opponent for the August 11th PPV in Toronto.
Kanellis has insinuated on social media that he might be plotting to win back the 24/7 title from his wife. He posted the following to his social media accounts recently, leading many to believe he’s got something planned to get the belt back.

Maria also took to social media recently to explain what winning the 24/7 title as a pregnant woman means to her:
