WWE NXT Star Karen Q recently suffered an injury that will keep her on the sidelines as she has undergone surgery.
The prospect underwent surgery Wednesday morning, according to Karen’s boyfriend, indie wrestler Bison, who made the news public on Twitter.
At first, the belief was that she suffered a broken leg while working a live event on Saturday night in Atlanta, GA Theatre that saw her teamed up with Bianca Belair to lose to Rhea Ripley and Reina Gonzalez in a tag team match.
In a video on social media, she later stated from the airport that she had a broken foot. That wasn’t the case.
WWE’s official website noted that Karen suffered a fractured lateral malleolus, which are bones in the ankle. As of this writing, there’s no word yet on when Karen will be back in action
At the time of the injury, Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio mentioned Karen did a northern lights suplex in the match, which is where the injury likely happened.
Karen later revealed on social media that WWE Hall of Famer “Road Dogg” BG James sat with her at the hospital after the injury occurred to keep her company.
After deciding to leave his role on the SmackDown writing team earlier this year, James has been working behind-the-scenes in NXT as an agent to help develop younger talent.
