Not one but two women’s matches have been announced for the upcoming WWE NXT TakeOver: Toronto II special.
During Wednesday’s episode of NXT, the company revealed that Candice LeRae gets her hands on Io Shirai. Also, NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler puts her title on the line when she makes her next defense against Mia Yim.
LeRae and Shirai have been feuding over the past few weeks to the point where Shirai demanded that NXT General Manager William Regal gave her a match, which he granted for this show.
WWE set up Baszler vs. Yim after the two had a promo exchange that eventually led to a match being made.
WWE presents the NXT TakeOver: Toronto II special on Saturday, August 10, 2019 in Toronto, Ontario at the Scotiabank Arena that will air on the WWE Network. WWE will be announcing more matches for this show in the coming weeks. Here is the updated card:
NXT Champion Adam Cole vs. Johnny Gargano – 2 of 3 Falls Rubber Match
NXT Tag Team Champions The Street Profits vs. Undisputed Era (Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly)
NXT North American Champion The Velveteen Dream vs. Pete Dunne vs. Roderick Strong – Triple Threat Match
NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler vs. Mia Yim
