WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan talked about a wide range of interesting topics during his recent appearance on The Steve Austin Podcast.

One story he told was involving a decision that could’ve changed the course of history in more than one way. The Ultimate Warrior dethroned Hulk Hogan to win the WWE Championship in the headliner of WrestleMania 6 on April 1, 1990, at the SkyDome in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The idea was that this win would make Warrior the top guy, which ultimately failed. Hogan thought the build-up to the match was pretty good but when it got time to discuss the finish of the match, things got interesting.

Hogan asked why Warrior was going over and what happens next for him once being informed that Warrior was going over.

Hogan recalled “Vince saying, ‘I think the red and yellow is over, we have gotten everything we can out of it.’”

Hogan responded by telling him what if he pointed to God after the match then turn heel on Warrior by attacking him. This would allow him to call himself Triple H, Hollywood Hulk Hogan.

“Vince said, ‘that would never work and you can’t be a heel.’ So, he squashed that.”

Hogan left WWE to join World Championship Wrestling in the 1990s, and he worked in TNA Wrestling for a few years.

While he’s always had a back and forth relationship with the company, it appears that things are on good terms between the two sides.
