WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin’s new show, Straight Up Steve Austin, premieres this coming Monday night on the USA Network immediately following WWE RAW. Each episode features Austin and a celebrity guest sharing stories and take part in stunts, such as driving an amphibious car on water or riding in a tank.
“Stone Cold” appeared on PEOPLE Now this week to promote the new series. In addition to discussing Straight Up Steve Austin and reflecting on his WWE career, hosts Jeremy Parsons and Andrea Boehlke challenged him to an arm wrestling contest.

“The name actually came from the fact when I’m talking to someone, if they’re really full of you know what? I’m ‘c’mon man, straight up?’ Austin said. “That’s how the name was born.”
Guests lined up for the first season of “Straight Up Steve Austin” include country star Trace Adkins, Dale Earnhardt Jr, Rob Riggle and many WWE stars.
Austin spoke about pulling a prank on Sal from Impractical Jokers during an episode by driving onto water in an amphibious car. Sal was not informed ahead of time that the car could drive on water.
“That first thing you saw with Sal, because he wasn’t expecting that,” Austin said when asked about the wildest stunt or adventure on the show. “When I’m wheeling him around and based on the show that they are on – only one of the hottest shows there’s is – so to be able to pull one on Sal and rib him like that was pretty major.”
The show isn’t just about stunts and pranks pulled by Austin, however. He also shares personal stories with his guests. He gave the example of a conversation he shared with Dale Earnhardt Jr.
“Talking to Dale Earnhardt Jr,” Austin responded when asked about a touching conversation he had while filming. “When he kind of rode off into the sunset and he realized that his career as a NASCAR driver – one of the most beloved drivers in the history of NASCAR – was coming to an end.”
“There’s heartfelt conversation, there’s in-depth conversation but there’s a lot of fun and shenanigans along the way,” Austin continued.
Austin was also asked during the interview about what his proudest moment in wrestling was. According to “Stone Cold” it was his match at WrestleMania 13 against Bret “Hitman” Hart.
“Proudest moment would’ve been when I went to WrestleMania 13 with Bret ‘the Hitman’ Hart and I went in as a bad guy, he went in as a good guy, during the course of the match we switched places,” Austin responded. He also mentioned wrestling the Rock at WrestleMania and feuding with Vince McMahon as other high points in his career.
The interview concludes with Austin competing against both hosts in an arm-wrestling contest.
