Bray Wyatt returned to the ring at SummerSlam in victorious fashion over Finn Balor. Wyatt’s new Fiend character was the focus of a Tweet from Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center recently which indicated he would be challenging for the Universal Championship at Hell in a Cell in the venue on October 6th, 2019.
According to a recent report heard on Wrestling Observer Radio, while such advertisements are often done just to sell tickets, this one does appear to coincide with WWE’s plans.
“Legit yeah, he is. That’s not some b***s**t thing they just do to sell tickets,” Meltzer said in regards to the Golden 1 Center Tweet. “That’s the absolute plan is he’s getting a championship match in Sacramento, yes.”
Meltzer also addressed Wyatt’s pending title shot in today’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
“I should point out that usually in this situation it’s just filler to advertise something to sell tickets. This is not the case here. The real plan at this point is for Wyatt to headline the show and challenge for the Universal title.”
