Former WWE Tag Team Champion Road Dogg did an interview with Bill Apter at the Legends Of The Ring Pro Wrestling Fanfest over the weekend.
In the interview, he talked about his transition from being the co-lead writer on SmackDown to NXT where he works in a similar role.
This is where Dogg stated that a personal thing led to him taking a step back from SmackDown as he had to deal with a thing on a daily basis as it was a stressful situation.
He made it clear that he did not lose his sobriety in the stress of the situation.
He brought up how producing live television every week is a stressful situation, which made him move down to NXT to work with younger talent but is thrown back into the frying pan now that NXT is live every Wednesday on USA Network.
Dogg confirmed that he’s involved with NXT television as he works as the Performance Center throughout the week and helps writes NXT television.
News of him moving down as co-lead writer on SmackDown first surfaced around WrestleMania 35 weekend where it was reported that it was a mutual decision.
