Wednesday’s edition of WWE NXT averaged 1.006 million viewers, which is down from the 1.179 million viewers that the show drew last week that marked its premiere episode on the USA Network, according to ShowbuzzDaily.
To compare, this week’s RAW drew 2.210 million viewers (down from last week’s 2.272 million viewers) and Tuesday’s SmackDown drew 2.099 million viewers (up from last week’s 2.064 million viewers).
The episode was expected to draw big viewership numbers because it was the second episode of NXT on network television.
The show had to go up against that Basketball Wives did 1.134 million viewers, Tucker Carlson Tonight with 3.715, and Anderson Cooper 1.638. Suits that followed NXT on the USA Network did 861,000, which is down from the 955,000 viewers from the prior week.
Matches that took place on this show include Keith Lee defeats Dominik Dijakovic in a singles match that opened the show, Dakota Kai defeats Taynara Conti, and Matt Riddle defeats Killian Dain in a WWE NXT Title #1 Contendership Street Fight that served as the main event.
WWE will attempt to increase viewership with next week’s episode, which should be interesting to see what number it pulls in.
