While reports suggested that WWE was planting the seeds for Cain Velasquez’s debut, nobody expected it to happen as soon as this week’s episode of SmackDown Live.
The main event of this week’s episode of SmackDown which was the show’s premiere episode on Fox Network saw Brock Lesnar challenging Kofi Kingston for his WWE title.
The match didn’t last for very long and the Beast ended Kofi’s long reign to became the new WWE Champion after delivering just one F5 to the New Day member.
The action however didn’t stop there as the music of Rey Mysterio was heard soon after Lesnar was handed the belt and Mysterio then made his way to the ring.
Though Rey did not come alone and he brought the former UFC Champion Cain Velasquez with him, to take revenge for the beating Lesnar delivered to him and his son Dominick on Raw this past Monday night.
Velasquez went on to attack the new WWE Champion and the segment ended with the Beast Incarnate retreating while Cain stood tall in the ring.
Both Rey Mysterio and Cain Velasquez were interviewed backstage after the show was over and when asked about his attack on Lesnar, Velasquez said that he is here to get some payback:
