Cain Velasquez is no longer competing inside of the Octagon but rather the squared circle as he has signed with WWE.

Marc Raimondi of ESPN is reporting that Velasquez has signed a lucrative, multi-year deal with WWE. He has also notified the UFC of his retirement.

As a result, Velasquez has been removed from the UFC’s USADA drug-testing pool and the UFC heavyweight rankings.

This comes after it was officially announced that the former UFC Heavyweight Champion will meet current WWE Champion Brock Lesnar in a singles match at the Crown Jewel pay-per-view event later this month.

In his final UFC bout, Velasquez lost to former title contender Francis Ngannou by first-round KO. The two fighters met in a heavyweight bout at the UFC on ESPN 1 event from the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona on February 17, 2019.

Velasquez had been out of action leading into this fight due to a lingering back injury required surgery. His previous fight saw him beat Travis Browne at UFC 200 in July 2016.

Velasquez found his passion with pro wrestling once he started training and made his in-ring debut earlier this year under the AAA banner where he worked a few matches.
