Tommaso Ciampa has made his return to in-ring action under the WWE NXT banner.

The former NXT Champion did so when he beat Angel Garza in a singles match on Wednesday’s episode of NXT in Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University.

This comes after he made his return to NXT television back on the two-hour premiere of NXT on the USA Network back on October 2nd.

This is where Ciampa ended the show by having a staredown with current NXT Champion Adam Cole.

Earlier this year, Ciampa suffered a neck injury that ultimately led to him getting surgery and relinquishing the title.

It came at a bad time for him as at the time, he had been one of the best heels in NXT and was recently called up to the main roster.

The belief at the time that Ciampa was slated to make his next title defense against Johnny Gargano at the NXT TakeOver: New York event on Friday, April 5, 2019 in Brooklyn, New York at the Barclays Center during WrestleMania 35 weekend.

Those original plans had to be changed. Prior to his return match, Ciampa hadn’t worked a match since February where he lost a Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic 2019 Semi-Final match alongside Johnny Gargano to Aleister Black & Ricochet.
