When the tag team match featuring teams captained by Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair were announced for Crown Jewel, WWE Universal Champion Seth Rollins was initially announced as the captain of Team Hogan. WWE has since booked Rollins in a Universal title rematch against “the Fiend” Bray Wyatt at Crown Jewel as well, however, leading to Rollins being removed from the team Hogan vs. Team Flair match.

Both Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan reacted to the news on social media recently:

Hulk Hogan posted the following:

Understand the champ @WWERollins needs to do what he’s gotta do. Defending the title against @WWEBrayWyatt is what champions do. Don’t worry Naitch, I got an idea for Team Hogan brother. #WWECrownJewel HH

Ric Flair posted the following:

Even The Team Captain Doesn’t Want To Go Up Against #TeamFlair. @HulkHogan You’re Down To 2! Maybe You Can Call Some New Stars? Gilberg, Johnny Rodz, Backlund?? WOOOOO #WWECrownJewel

Seth Rollins issued the following comments in regards to him being removed from the match:

I’d fight everyone if they’d let me. Thanks for understanding, brother! I owe ya one!

It's the right decision. The World Champion should not have to work two matches a night. They have more than enough people to choose from.
