Tyson Fury is set to wrestle against WWE Superstar Braun Strowman this Friday at the promotion’s Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia. In an interview with The Telegraph, ‘The Gypsy King’ spoke about the opportunity, confessing that working with WWE has taken his mind off of boxing completely.
Fury added that has no plans to continue in pro wrestling after Crown Jewel.
“I’m an entertainer and fast learner, so I’ve been getting the best out of it. It’s taken my mind off boxing completely,” Fury stated. “I wouldn’t be in training camp at the moment, anyway. But it gives me something to do. I didn’t want October and November off. I knew this would be a month-long job and I knew I would be busy.”
He noted that once his bout with Strowman is over, he’ll be returning to professional boxing. Regarding a return to the squared circle, Fury teased “Never say never, but I’ve got nothing planned for the future with wrestling.”
Triple H has previously noted how Fury is a custom made fit for WWE. He also remarked how he was “blown away” by the boxer’s in-ring ability and speed in picking up pro wrestling.
Fury steps into the WWE ring this Friday, October 31st at WWE Crown Jewel. The event takes place in the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
