Paige has responded to rumors that she is being primed for an in-ring return. Speculation began following this week’s Monday Night RAW. The team that she managed, The Kabuki Warriors — comprised of Asuka and Kairi Sane — turned on her during a brief segment on the show. Paige was on the receiving end of Asuka’s green mist attack. This turn would see RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch run out to make the save, beating down the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Taking to Twitter, Paige quashed the rumors, sarcastically writing:
“Yep this is obviously true. Now if someone could lend me their neck that would be great..”
The former Superstar’s in-ring career came to an unfortunate sudden end in December 2017. She was involved in a six-woman tag team match during a WWE Live Event. The match was called off by the referee after Paige received a kick to her neck from ‘The Boss’ Sasha Banks, injuring her. It was soon determined that Paige would not be cleared for an in-ring return by WWE’s medical team.
Since that time, Paige has accompanied former stable Absolution and helped helm SmackDown as the brand’s General Manager. She was removed from this role in December 2018. It wouldn’t be until April 2019 that she would return as the manager for the Kabuki Warriors.
