There is a new #1 contender to the NXT Championship and that’s Pete Dunne. This will be the next title defense for Adam Cole.
During WWE NXT TakeOver: WarGames III event in Chicago, Illinois, WWE held a match that would determine who is next line for a title shot.
A Triple Threat Match between Pete Dunne, Killian Dain, and Damian Priest took place with the winner becoming the next challenger to Cole’s title.
As seen in the match, Dunne ended up winning it. As a result, Dunne has earned the right to challenge Cole for the NXT Title at the Survivor Series pay-per-view event.
Cole was also in action at this show as The Undisputed Era (Cole, Bobby Fish, Roderick Strong & Kyle O’Reilly) took on Tommaso Ciampa, Donovan Dijak, and Keith Lee in a Men’s WarGames Match.
At Survivor Series, each member of the Undisputed Era will be in action. Fish and O’Reilly will take part in a triple threat match against SmackDown Tag Team Champions New Day and RAW Tag Team Champions Viking Raiders while Strong will take on Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura and WWE United States Champion AJ Styles.
