The NXT brand is riding high with momentum on multiple fronts. Last week, NXT drew more viewers than AEW Dynamite for the first time in their weekly head-to-head battle. NXT Takeover: War Games was a blockbuster show and the NXT brand secured more wins than Raw or SmackDown at Survivor Series.
For all the success of NXT’s weekly TV show, one criticism has been the small studio audience at Full Sail University.
NXT’s in-ring product has been stellar. However, there are clear drawbacks to performing in front of the same audience each week. Especially when that venue limits attendance to just a few hundred fans. Unfortunately, WWE will not be taking NXT to larger venues each week any time soon.
According to a report at PWInsider, WWE has committed to tape NXT TV from Full Sail Live through the end of March 2020. WrestleMania season would be an opportune time to take NXT TV on the road, especially if WWE features crossover with ‘main roster’ talent as they did in the lead-up to Survivor Series.
