It appears that Bobby Fish has suffered an injury.
Fish and Kyle O’Reilly defended their NXT Tag Team Titles against Keith Lee and Dominik Dijakovic on Wednesday’s episode of WWE NXT in Winter Park, Florida at Full Sail University on the USA Network. This served as the opening match of the show.
The match went a few minutes until they had to take a commercial break. There is speculation that the injury happened when Lee had tossed the champions out of the ring onto each other at ringside.
When the show came back from break, it was mentioned on commentary that NXT General Manager William Regal had ordered Strong to fill in for Fish, due to medical reasons.
Strong replaced Fish with the titles still being on the line. The announcers later noted that Lee had injured Fish. As of this writing, there’s no word yet on Fish’s exact injury.
Fish suffered a jaw injury during a match at the set of NXT TV tapings back in June while working a match.
The injury happened when Velveteen Dream did a quebrada and it looked like his knee connected with Fish’s nose, but it was actually a jaw injury. As a result, Fish’s eye started to swell shut during the match.
