This week’s episode of WWE Backstage created a new record for low viewership and the show’s viewership numbers dropped below 100,000 for the first time since its premiere episode in November.
The show featured former Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss, Ember Moon, and William Shatner as special guests but it only drew 95,000 viewers, according to Showbuzz Daily.
This is a 24% decline from last week’s episode of the show which featured the return of special analyst CM Punk and had drawn 127,000 viewers.
The episode featuring Punk had ranked #128 on the Cable Top 150 and drew 0.06 rating in the 18-49 demographic. This week’s episode, however, did not make it into the Top 150 and it pulled a 0.05 rating in the key demographic.
This is the second-lowest viewership for WWE Backstage since the official premiere of the WWE series back on November 5 which had drawn 49,000 viewers.
In comparison, the episode of Monday Night Raw the night before also saw a decline in viewership and the show only brought in 2.053 million viewers, down from 2.150 million viewers of the previous week.
Now it would be interesting to see if WWE takes any steps to improve the ratings of the show and if they bring in any special star next week to give the numbers a boost.
