Apollo Crews is the new WWE United States Champion.
Crews dethroned Andrade as the champion by beating him in a match on Monday’s episode of RAW on the USA Network from Orlando, Florida at the WWE Performance Center
After the match, Crews cut a promo in the ring about after all of the hard work and sacrifice he’s been through, he won his first title in WWE. He brought up how after the “injury” setback, he fought forward and is now the new champion.
Last December, during a house show at MSG, Andrade defeated Rey Mysterio to win the United States Championship for the first time.
Back in April, WWE did the injury storyline when Crews faced Andrade for the title on an episode of RAW. This was done as a way to set up the replacement star for Crews in the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
As a result of the injury, Crews was unable to finish the match and ultimately pulled from the ladder match. AJ Styles ended up replacing him.
