The identity of the WWE developmental talent who happened to test positive for COVID-19 remains unknown, but further information was released giving some details about the individual.

According to Dave Meltzer in his most recent Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the talent who received a positive COVID-19 test was indeed a NXT developmental worker and it happened to be a female wrestler. She has not been at tapings since June 9.

Meltzer also mentions there being conflicting reports as to the invited fans (mostly friends and family members of talent) not being allowed to wear masks if they were ringside for tapings at the Performance Center. He states that several people in attendance contacted him to say they were not allowed. Miami based reporter Jon Alba did say the fans denied this and said they were allowed to wear masks. Meltzer notes that nobody during the tapings were seen wearing masks. WWE did release their own statement regarding having “fans” in attendance:

“Fans have not been in attendance at WWE events since March 13. Yesterday, a select number of friends and family were permitted to attend WWE’s TV production. These individuals were required to participate in medical screenings prior to entering the closed set at our training facility, and were kept apart from in-ring performers and production personnel. Attendance was below 20% capacity and social distancing guidelines were adhered to with at least six feet between parties, thus face masks were not required.”
