Pat McAfee hasn’t been seen on NXT TV since the NXT Takeover: WarGames event and his absence has been the cause of lots of rumors and speculations.
Dave Meltzer provided some update on his status with the company during the latest Wrestling Observer Radio and killed one such rumour that has been thrown around.
Meltzer confirmed that McAfee does not have any heat with WWE officials and their decision to pull the former NFL punter from TV has nothing to do with any action of the star.
The decision to pull the NXT star from WWE programming was made by the WWE officials and it’s apparently just a case of the company wanting him off TV rather than making him a regular for NXT.
Pat McAfee made his wrestling debut in a match against Adam Cole at the NXT TakeOver: XXX event in August. Even though he lost his bout against Cole, McAfee still impressed everyone with his performance.
The former NFL star then teamed up with Oney Lorcan, Danny Burch, and Pete Dunne to form the Kings Of NXT stable and compete against the Undisputed Era in a WarGames match at the latest NXT TakeOver event on December 6.
