Fans of Dave Batista may have to wait yet another year to see the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion take his place in the Hall of Fame.
The Animal was announced for the 2020 class, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic and facing the prospect of a quick or even remote induction, withdrew from the group.
Last month, Batista said he hopes to be inducted this year, after not being featured in 2021 or 2022 (the latter of which was headlined by The Undertaker.)
Batista has yet to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and it appears 2023 won't be the year for the Hollywood star either.
PW Insider Elite was told by sources in WWE that the Animal will not be inducted this year.
This hardly comes as a surprise, given that Batista is currently filming My Spy 2 in South Africa, a sequel to the 2020 action-comedy spy film.
Logistically, it would be difficult, if not impossible for Batista to be present in Los Angeles this year if he was to be inducted.
Even without the Animal, this year's Hall of Fame class is shaping up to be a great grouping, though one much smaller than previous years.
Last week, Rey Mysterio was announced for the Hall of Fame, and during this week's The Bump, The Great Muta joined the masked Superstar.
PW Insider confirmed the rumors that Stacy Kiebler will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on March 31.
Currently, there are no tag teams slated to be inducted.
