WWE made the Hell in a Cell match between Edge and Finn Balor official for WrestleMania 39 during last week’s opening segment of Monday Night Raw.
The match was originally planned for the Royal Rumble, but it was pushed back due to Edge not being able to appear for the build-up due to his filming schedule. Balor also teased bringing back his Demon character, something that was also reported to be the plan at the Royal Rumble.
So far, WWE has yet to confirm which matches will take place on the first and second nights of the two-day show. Many people believe Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes will headline the second night.
Pwinsider.com reports the early word is that Edge vs. Finn Balor will be taking place on WrestleMania night 1. The report noted that there was also talk of doing Rey Mysterio vs. Dominik Mysterio that night.
For the second night, there has been talk of Drew McIntyre vs. Intercontinental Champion Gunther vs. Sheamus, Bianca Belair vs. Asuka, and Damage CTRL vs. Trish Stratus & Lita & Becky Lynch on night two. Nothing is set in stone beyond Balor vs. Edge.
