WWE presented a loaded episode of Monday Night Raw this week with a strong opening segment to make Undisputed Tag Team Champions The Usos defending their titles against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 39 before closing with a promo segment with Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.
There was a rumor going around the day of the show that NXT star Grayson Waller was to appear on the show to further build his upcoming match with Johnny Gargano at NXT Stand and Deliver next Saturday in LA.
However, Gargano worked a match with Dominik Mysterio, yet the NXT star didn’t make an appearance.
Rumor Killer
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported today that Waller was never slated to appear on the show.
The report noted, “Waller was not brought in, was not involved in the creative plans, and was not set for the show in any capacity for March 20.”
It was added that the first time creative heard of Waller supposedly appearing was when Fightful reached out to see if they were true. It's unclear whether Gargano will make another appearance on NXT TV ahead of the match.
