It was looking like Randy Orton was on his way back from injury and would be back on WWE television in the near future, based on several indications.

Heading into WrestleMania weekend, there were hints about Orton returning, such as internal rumblings about Orton’s WWE status as well as the company bringing him into Los Angeles for the weekend.

In February, there was a photo going around of Orton looking to be in great shape, another encouraging sign for fans who had been hoping to see him back on WWE television.

However, shortly after it was reported that Orton had arrived in LA, it was reported that Orton was far from being cleared to wrestle again after being sidelined due to fusion back surgery late last year. His last match happened in May.

WWE leaked word to Dave Meltzer that Orton wasn’t ready to return, as fan speculation was high regarding his impending return, and they wanted to tame those expectations.

His future in the wrestling business and potentially not being able to wrestle again was a legitimate fear within WWE due to the severity of his injury.

Fightful Select now reports that Orton has told people close to him that “he is not done wrestling.”

We wish Orton a speedy recovery.

I hope he gets well enough to come back soon. Be a very sad day if he had to retire. I still want Orton to win more main championship so he can get past his tie with Triple H on 14 championships. lol Sometimes people forget Orton is in the top 3 with most main championships, although tied 3rd.
