It appears as if the former Grizzled Young Veterans have been granted their release from the WWE.
Earlier this afternoon, it was reported by Fightful Select that Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler of the NXT faction 'Schism' requested their release from WWE.
In an updated provided by the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, those requests have been granted by the company.
The former Grizzled Young Veterans joined WWE in 2018 and quickly became a staple of the company's now defunct NXT UK brand. Then wrestling under the James Drake (Jagger Reid) and Zack Gibson (Rip Fowler) monikers, the pair became the brand's inaugural NXT UK Tag Team Champions following a victory over Mustache Mountain (Tyler Bate & Trent Seven) at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool in 2019.
The pair would eventually move to the United States and join NXT. Drake and Gibson would make it to the Dusty Rhodes Classic Finals but ultimately lost to Matt Riddle and Pete Dunne. After a run of middling success in NXT, the pair were rebranded as part of Joe Gacy's 'The Dyad' faction and wrestled under their current (before their release) gimmicks as Rip Fowler and Jagger Reid.
Fowler and Reid last appeared on WWE programming at this past weekend's NXT Stand & Deliver premium live event where they joined 'Schism' stablemates Joe Gacy and Ava Raine in a losing effort to Tyler Bate and Chase University's Andre Chase, Duke Hudson, and Thea Hail.
