One WWE NXT Superstar made their WrestleMania debut this past weekend in a most unusual way.
WWE WrestleMania 39 was the promotion's fourth two-night WrestleMania, a tradition that began in 2020 and was brought on due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
WWE's 39th iteration of the Showcase of the Immortals went off the air with Roman Reigns retaining the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes.
On WrestleMania: Saturday, Rey Mysterio faced his son Dominik Mysterio in a deeply personal rivalry stemming from Dom's heel turn last September in Cardiff.
The match was sponsored by Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and a mascot of the new, limited-edition 'Cinnamoji' character was at ringside for the match.
On Instagram, NXT Superstar Sol Ruca revealed that she was the one who donned the costume to portray the Cinnamoji character.
Ruca also shared other highlights of her 'Mania week, including being a coach at an NXT tryout, just over a year removed from being a trainee at an NXT event herself.
Ruca, real name Calyx Hampton, made her TV debut as part of NXT in September of last year.
Her debut on the gold brand came months after making her in-ring debut in June 2022 during an NXT live event in Jacksonville, Florida.
The Ontario, California native joined WWE with a background in Acrobatics and was part of the University of Oregon Tumbling team.
