Fans are still talking about Bayley’s WWE status coming out of WrestleMania 39.
Trish Stratus, Women’s Tag Team Champions Lynch, and Lita beat Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai, and IYO SKY)in a six-woman tag team match. After the match, Bayley sent out an interesting tweet, indicating she may be taking time off.
The group was a statement move made by Triple H at last year’s SummerSlam by introducing following the Raw Women’s Title match between Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair following their match. Vince McMahon had previously nixed the idea of doing a group with Bayley being the leader.
Summerslam took place just weeks after McMahon had retired from the company as CEO following the hush money scandal.
Bayley was scheduled to appear on Monday's post-WrestleMania edition of WWE Raw, but was now seen on the broadcast.
As previously reported, McMahon was backstage at Raw and very much 'running things' just like old times. Despite stating that he will not be "in the weeds" with the creative process, there were multiple re-writes before and during Raw, which led to bad morale backstage.
According to Fightful Select, Bayley was scheduled to accompany Damage CTRL to the ring for their #1 contender's match (women's tag titles) against Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan. For whatever reason, Bayley was pulled from the match.
Rodriguez and Morgan picked up the victory and will challenge Becky Lynch and Lita for the Women's tag titles next week on Raw.
