There is a lot of concern among fans and WWE staff & talent following the news that WWE had been acquired by the Endeavour Group with the plan for WWE to merge with the UFC to form a new company.
Following the news on Monday, Vince McMahon was heavily involved in the creative of last night’s Raw, with him making changes before and during the show. This was just hours after Nick Khan and Triple H told talent that it was business as usual.
McMahon himself stated that morning on CNBC during an interview that he would only oversee big picture stuff regarding creative while Triple H remains in charge of the day-to-day creative.
McMahon making such changes to the show led to a big drop in morale among talent. Fightful Select reported today that "multiple wrestlers" were exploring their options should McMahon get more involved, and "at least two talent, including one near the top of the card," told the media outlet that they would likely ask to be released if "this is a trend moving forward."
A lot of fans and even some wrestlers are going with the mindset of a see-and-wait approach regarding how many changes are made by McMahon because he was in town for the biggest event of the year. It’s possible that he doesn’t make too many late changes to the script if he’s not there every week.
Friday’s SmackDown in Portland, Oregon, should be a good indication of what to expect going forward.
