Ric Flair has always been outspoken regarding the career of his daughter, Charlotte, and did so yet again leading up to her most recent match when she defended the SmackDown Women’s Title against Rhea Ripley at WWE WrestleMania 39 earlier this month.

Leading up to the match, Flair made it known that he thought the match should’ve headlined the first night of the event. Instead, WWE went with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn beating The Usos for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles instead.

Flair vs. Ripley was highly praised for being one of the best matches on the first night and ended with Ripley going over to win the title.

During the most recent episode of his "To Be The Man" podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer shared his belief that he believes that the two top WWE stars had the best match at this year's WrestleMania.

“They had the best match WrestleMania. If I showed you the people that texted me, and I’ll never violate their privacy, what they sent me about Charlotte and Rhea, you’d be amazed. These are people that know, not people that just speculate. From the time Ashley hit that spinning DDT on Rhea, which she took perfectly on top of her head. There’s two ways to take it, you take it on your knees, that looks like shit. Or you take it straight up and down, which is dangerous, and you are asking a lot of trust in the person giving it to you, to that German, where she completely did a 360 off the second rope and landed on her face. Nothing like it. Gorilla stood, which I’m privileged to be able to glad to, stood from the DDT up. Look at this [German suplex] bump? Who else in the business can do that?"

Flair also provided an update on how Charlotte is doing physically after the match. He noted she is doing fine, although she does have some bruising on her face because of the bout.

Charlotte is reportedly on hiatus from WWE coming out of the show, and it’s unclear when she will be returning.
