Last year, Triple H went on a signing spree after taking over main roster creative after Vince McMahon resigned from WWE due to the hush money scandal.

Triple H brought back talent like Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Dakota Kai, IYO SKY, Karrion Kross, Hit Row, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Tegan Nox, Sarah Logan, Emma, Candice LeRae, Johnny Gargano, Chelsea Green, Bronson Reed, Dexter Lumis, and others.

Eric Young is among the names to be let go by the company or depart on their own terms to be brought back by Triple H with the idea of a different creative vision.

After initially signing in 2016, Young became the leader of the Sanity faction on the NXT brand with Nikki Cross, Killian Dain, and Alexander Wolfe. The group, except for Cross, was called up to the main roster in 2018 but didn’t find the success they had in NXT. They were split up, and Young was let go in 2020 as part of the COVID-19 budget cuts.

After being cut, Young returned to Impact Wrestling, where he became a main event star, eventually winning the Impact World Championship for the second time in his career and dropping it to Rich Swann in the main event of Bound for Glory in 2020.

Young signed with WWE in November after he was “killed off” on Impact TV a month later. Fightful Select reports today that Young has been with WWE and has been for quite some time.

The report noted that he was recruited by Triple H just a few months after taking over creative. By October, Impact knew Young was leaving.

Young has been under contract with WWE since November 1st. They haven’t heard of him being backstage at WWE at all and it's unclear when he will even be brought to a show, let alone return on television.
