Drew McIntyre has been absent from the ring recently due to a health issue.
The Scottish wrestler was not present on the April 7th episode of Smackdown, and there is no official word on how long he will be out of action.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the health issue is not a recent development, and dates back to before McIntyre's appearance at WrestleMania 37. Despite his health concerns, McIntyre was determined to work through the event and put over his opponent, Gunther.
“McIntyre was off the 4/7 Smackdown show due to what was called a health issue. We do know that it dated back before Mania because he was happy to be able to work through Mania and put Gunther over . There’s no word of how long he would be out. As noted before, his contract is up at the end of the year and right now they are not close when it comes to money on a new deal.”
