The first match has been announced for the WWE Backlash PLE, and it’s a big one as new Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens, and Matt Riddle will take on The Bloodline (The Usos and Solo Sikoa).
WWE confirmed the match booking on Monday evening.
The Usos have continued to feud with Owens and Zayn coming out of WrestleMania 39 in LA earlier this month, seeing their historic reign come to an end.
Paul Heyman has been indicating to The Usos that Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns hasn’t been happy with them following their loss at the show.
Riddle made his return to WWE television after being away since December on the Raw following WrestleMania, where he has tried to get his revenge on Sikoa, who put him out of action late last year as a way to write him off television.
Last week on SmackDown, WWE booked a singles match with Riddle battling Sikoa where Solo went over with the samoan spike. Post-match, the attack from The Bloodline member continued on Riddle as while The Usos brawled with Zayn and Owens around ringside. The show ended when Sikoa delivered a uranage to Riddle on top of the table before Owens & Zayn could make the save.
WWE presents the Backlash premium live event on Saturday, May 6, at Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot in San Juan, Puerto Rico that will air on Peacock. WWE will be announcing more matches for this show in the coming weeks.
