In 2008, Ric Flair was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, becoming the first active Superstar to receive the honor.
The following night at WrestleMania 24, Flair's career would end in the critically-acclaimed retirement match against Shawn Michaels.
Four years later, Flair was inducted as part of the Four Horsemen, making history yet again as the first two-time inductee
Speaking to the Orlando Sentinel, Flair spoke about the Hall of Fame and his friendship with 2023 inductee the Great Muta.
"It’s the one time we all get together to share the memories and stories. I’m actually going to visit Muta in Japan. The worst thing about it is that it’s one or two less of us every year. It’s been a long year for a couple of people, so my prayers are with them.”
In October of last year, Flair launched his line of cannabis 'Ric Flair Drip' and has teamed with High Horsemen, Tyson 2.0, and Verano to produce the product.
Speaking in the interview, Flair explained the life-changing properties of his line of cannabis which have greatly benefitted his health.
"I had been approached before [about promoting cannabis], but it wasn’t ideal for my brand at that time since I was still wrestling and all that. But when I said, ‘Yeah, boy,’ it changed my life. I haven’t really smoked since I was 18 or 19 because I had asthma — that’s the only reason I didn’t, probably — but with edibles, now I’ve gotten off Xanax.”
Mere months prior to his cannabis line launching, Flair competed in his final match, over a decade after his previous bout in the ring.
The match saw Flair and Andrade El Idolo defeat Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett, and received criticism for Flair's performance in the bout.
When asked, Flair once again stated that he would have put on a much better performance if he was properly hydrated.
"One word: dehydration. It would have been phenomenal if I had kept hydrated. I was fixated on weighing a certain weight for the match. I didn’t drink enough water. That was it.”
Despite the bout being promoted as Flair's final-ever match, the Nature Boy has since teased getting back in the ring.
