Weeks after John Cena was announced as part of the cast for the forthcoming live-action ‘Barbie’ film, an important detail about what character Cena will be playing in the film is out.
Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling star in the film as Barbie and Ken, while Will Ferrell, Simu Liu, America Ferrera, Ariana Greenblatt, Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey, Alexandra Shipp, Michael Cera, Issa Rae, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Rhea Perlman and Kate McKinnon are also in the cast.
The film will be released on July 21, 2023 and is directed by Greta Gerwig, who also wrote it with Noah Baumbach. The synopsis for the movie reads like this:
"After being expelled from Barbieland for being a less than perfect-looking doll, Barbie sets off for the human world to find true happiness.”
There was a sneak peek at the movie at a Warner Brother’s presentation at CinemaCon 2023.
According to IGN, the film's sneak peek included seeing Cena in a very interesting role, which was him portraying a mermaid.

Cena made a return to WWE for a match with Austin Theory at WrestleMania 39 earlier this month, where he put over the United States Champion. This was the opening match of the first night of the event.
