The WWE roster has Triple H to thank for their chances of becoming a World Champion drastically improving with the introduction of the new World Heavyweight Championship.

During this week's Raw, WWE's Head of Talent/Creative introduced the new title, which has been borne due to Roman Reigns' stranglehold over the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Triple H said that while Reigns' lucrative schedule, which allows him to compete sporadically, is good for the Tribal Chief, it is bad for WWE.

The new World Heavyweight Champion will be crowned at Night of Champions next month, a show that had previously been 'WWE King & Queen of the Ring.' When the name was changed, sources within WWE said that the decision behind the name change would become "obvious" in time.

Sports Illustrated reports that contrary to the opinion of some fans, the decision to introduce a new World Championship did not come from Vince McMahon. Instead, the Game approved the idea, as he prefers the structure of each brand having its own World Championship.

On Raw, Triple H announced that the new World Heavyweight Championship will go to whichever brand Reigns isn't on after the upcoming WWE draft. While not confirmed, it is believed that Reigns will remain on SmackDown, where he has been since the move to FOX in 2019.

WWE's annual draft will begin on this Friday's SmackDown and conclude on the May 1, episode of Monday Night Raw next week.
