One of NXT's most popular tag teams could be mere days away from receiving their call-up to the main roster.
This Friday, WWE will kick off their first night of the 2023 draft, which will conclude next week on the May 1, episode of Monday Night Raw.
Triple H has proclaimed that this year's draft will be the biggest in the company's history, with every Superstar eligible to be drafted.
Given Triple H's comments about all Superstars being eligible, many expect talent from NXT to be called up during the upcoming draft. This is especially likely given that no NXT Superstars were called up on the post-WrestleMania Raw or SmackDown as is tradition.
PW Insider has learned that Pretty Deadly is due to be at this Friday's SmackDown taping in Corpus Christi, Texas. There have been rumblings of the pair being called up for some time, so the draft would make a lot of sense.
During this week's WWE NXT, Pretty Deadly ran afoul of Tony D'Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, and were left 'swimming with the fishes.'
The duo of Kit Wilson and Elton Prince joined WWE officially in 2020, after making sporadic appearances for NXT UK in 2019. In February 2021, the pair captured the NXT UK Tag Team Championships from Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang.) Pretty Deadly would hold the titles until December 2021, when they'd lose the gold to Moustache Mountain.
In April 2022, the pair were moved to WWE NXT, and would capture the vacant NXT Tag Team Championships the following week. The win made Pretty Deadly the second-ever team to have won the NXT and NXT UK Tag Titles, behind Moustache Mountain. Their reign would be ended by the Creed Brothers in June, ending at 53 days.
At NXT Worlds Collide on September 4, Pretty Deadly regained the NXT Tag Team Titles and unified the gold with the NXT UK Tag Team Championships. Their reign would end in December at the hands of the New Day's Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
