The Kansas City Chiefs' Travis Kelce is open to one-day trading in the gridiron for the ring and wants some kind of role in WWE.

Kelce has certainly been in a role as a tight end for the Chiefs, having been part of the Super Bowl-winning team in February 2020. In February of this year, Kelce would add a second Super Bowl ring to his collection as part of the Chiefs' victory over the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl LVII.

Kelce isn't ready to hang up his cleats just yet, but he does have plans on entering the squared circle. Speaking to TMZ Sports, Kelce recalled seeing George Kittle deck The Miz during WrestleMania 39: Night One earlier this year.

"My guy George Kittle was at WrestleMania throwing clotheslines left and right, man. It was awesome to see him go nuts."

Kittle's intervention during the impromptu match between The Miz and Pat McAfee helped the popular SmackDown commentator get a win during his one-off return. In the interview, Kelce was asked about his own possible WWE appearance and said he's spoken to The Miz about making it happen.

"Hopefully we can brew something into fruition here."

If Kelce decided to give professional wrestling a go, he would hardly be the first name from the NFL to sign with Vince McMahon. McAfee is a former punter for the Indianapolis Colts, while Rob Gronkowski was under contract with WWE in 2020, and even won the 24/7 Championship.

There are plenty of NFL players in WWE who are best known for their wrestling careers, including Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. The Tribal Chief was an offseason/practice squad member for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Minnesota Vikings in 2007 before reaching megastardom as a Superstar.
