WWE could be headed to Orlando, Florida, by holding its Royal Rumble PLE at Camping World Stadium next year.

WESH 2 reports The Tourist Development Tax Sports Incentive Committee will be asking $850,000 for the Greater Orlando Sports Commission to bid on the Royal Rumble.

The bid will happen on Tuesday, May 2. If the committee approves it and WWE accepts it, the show will be held at Camping World Stadium on January 27, 2024. It’s unclear what the other events WWE may hold on the weekend in the city, perhaps an NXT special.

Leaders of Orange County noted the Royal Royal attendance is estimated at nearly 54,000 fans, and the show could generate an economic impact of $28 million. The county leaders noted that should the bid not get approved by WWE, then the funds would be returned.

WWE held WrestleMania 33 in 2017 at Camping World Stadium. The event generated $181 million for the region.

In 2016, WWE ran the Royal Rumble at the Amway Center in Orlando before holding shows in Florida during the COVID-19 pandemic in what was dubbed the ThunderDome. That setup started at the Amway Center before moving to Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg and then the Yuengling Center in Tampa.

Jason Siegel, President and CEO of the Greater Orlando Sports Commission told Orlando Business Journal that they’re hopeful WWE will pick them.

“We have a long history of hosting major marquee WWE events in Orlando, and we are hopeful that our friends at WWE select Orlando to host Royal Rumble in 2024.”

This year's Royal Rumble was held at the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX.
