Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, and others are yet to receive a summons over the discrimination lawsuit brought on by Britney Abrahams.
Abrahams was fired from WWE after taking a WrestleMania-branded chair but believes that her termination was not down to this action. Abrahams claims that WWE actually fired her for speaking up against several problematic creative pitches during her time as a writer for the company. Abrahams also alleges that she was given permission to take a chair, and that white, male employees were seen taking chairs and faced no punishments.
From court records as of May 2, PW Insider reports that no defendants have been served summons so far in relation to the lawsuit. In layman's terms, this means that neither McMahons have been ordered to appear in court and answer questions regarding Abrahams' allegations. According to the records, the lawsuit must be amended with "the name and addresses of all defendants included," or else the defendants will be unable to be properly served, which requires the summons delivered to the defendant in person."
The defendants listed include WWE, Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon, Chris Dunn, Ryan Callahan, Jen Peppermen, and Mike Heller. Pepperman and Callahan still work with WWE as part of the company's creative team. Callahan is the current VP of Creative for SmackDown, and according to Abrahams' suit, once pitched for Mansoor to be revealed as the person responsible for 9/11.
The report also states that many in WWE were confused by the suit as they had never heard of Abrahams. During her time with WWE, the former writer worked under the pen name Onyx Espri.
