The war between Becky Lynch and Trish Stratus won't come to an end at WWE Night of Champions, according to a report from Fightful Select.
The two have been at odds since the April 10, Raw, where Stratus and Lynch lost the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships in a match where Stratus had replaced Lita. Post-match, Stratus attacked The Man, turning heel for the first time since 2005. The WWE Hall of Famer has explained that she has never received her due credit for her contributions to Women's Wrestling as the reason for her heel turn.
Last week, Becky Lynch returned to TV in her first appearance since being attacked by Stratus and ambushed the WWE Hall of Famer. During this week's show, Lynch challenged Stratus to a match at WWE Night of Champions later this month. While the match hasn't been confirmed by WWE, a contract signing is expected to take place next week.
In their update, Fightful reports that the feud, at least as of WWE's original plans, is supposed to continue past Night of Champions. When news broke of plans for this feud earlier this year, it was reported at the time that WWE intended for a match between the two to take place at Summerslam 2023.
In addition to Summerslam, WWE has the option of hosting a rematch at WWE Money in the Bank on July 1. The popular show will take place in the 02 Arena in London, England, marking WWE's first time holding a Money in the Bank event outside of the United States.
