Vince McMahon has been operating "remotely" to make changes to WWE programming, according to a report according to Fightful Select.

McMahon returned to WWE in January of this year after strongarming his way back onto the board of directors. The 77-year-old billionaire had reportedly threatened to block any attempts at selling WWE or negotiating new media rights unless he was reinstated. With McMahon back in charge (replacing his daughter Stephanie as chairperson) a deal has been reached for WWE to be acquired by Endeavor Holdings Group.

From the moment McMahon returned, fans and talent feared that Vince would try to force his way back into creative, which had been run in his absence by Paul 'Triple H' Levesque. Those fears grew following the critically-panned post-WrestleMania 39 edition of Raw that saw McMahon make several changes.

Fightful Select report that while Triple H is officially Head of Creative, the product has been subject to late changes by McMahon, who has been working remotely. When McMahon has been at tapings, the changes are said to have been "a lot heavier and had less reason to them." Sources who spoke to Fightful said that they hear that McMahon calls in changes remotely and does it with "heavy alterations." Still, there have been Superstars who have said they have had more flexibility in their promos as of late than when McMahon was present.

Despite the changes McMahon makes, morale within WWE is said to be very high at this time. The company is coming off the back of its most successful WrestleMania event in history as well as the much-acclaimed WWE Backlash show in Puerto Rico.

Fightful said that morale was particularly high after the recent European tour, with many saying it was the most fun they have had on tour with WWE. This is in stark contrast to the post-Royal Rumble 2022 season, which was said to be an all-time low point for morale. WWE talent are said to still be "on guard," with the possibility that McMahon could return to working backstage.
