The WWE Raw Women's Championship is a thing of the past, and for some WWE Superstars, the title's end is proving to be emotional.

The championship was introduced in 2016 as the WWE Women's Championship, replacing the WWE Divas Championship (2008-2016.) After the brand split in July of that year, the title was rechristened the Raw Women's Championship and would headline the first-post brand extension edition of Raw. Later that year, SmackDown would introduce its own Women's Championship, with Becky Lynch being the first champion.

On this week's SmackDown, Asuka was presented with the new Undisputed WWE Women's Championship, an odd name considering that she isn't the only Women's Champion on the main roster.

Taking to Twitter, Bayley chose to bid farewell to the Raw Women's Championship, a title she held in 2017 in her first championship run on WWE's main roster. Bayley said that the title granted plenty of special moments, with the video in the tweet showing her match with Bianca Belair at Crown Jewel 2022.

Responding to Bayley's tweet, Belair, who holds the record for the longest reign as Raw Women's Champion, praised the Damage CTRL leader despite their differences in the ring.

The Raw Women's Championship is a thing of the past, and it is suspected that the SmackDown Women's Championship may be going in the same direction. It is believed that the title held by Rhea Ripley will soon be getting a revamp that will see the title ditch its association with the blue brand. Given how the Undisputed WWE Women's Championship is similar to the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, many assume that Ripley's new title will be similar to the World Heavyweight Championship.
