The Good Brothers are back on WWE's roster, but the pair's comeback last year nearly didn't take place.
The team of Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson returned to WWE in October of last year and immediately aligned themselves with AJ Styles during his feud with The Judgment Day. Since then, Gallows, Anderson, and Styles have recruited 'Michin' Mia Yim to The O.C. Earlier this year, the entire group was moved to SmackDown as part of the 2023 WWE Draft.

After being released from WWE in 2020, Gallows and Anderson would join IMPACT Wrestling, where they remained until 2022. At Turning Point 2020, the Good Brothers captured the IMPACT World Tag Team Championships and would capture the titles twice more at Slammiversary 2021 and Slammiversary 2022. These three wins make the team the third-longest reigning champions of all time, having held the titles for a collective 418 days. Speaking on Talk 'n Shop this week, Anderson explained how close the pair were to re-signing with IMPACT in 2022.
“[The offer] was great and we almost re-signed it, but there was just this personal thing that we needed to do. We just wanted to do a couple of really big shows in Japan.”
Anderson added that the pair signed one-month-long contract extensions with IMPACT, and were close to signing longer deals after that. On the final day of their short-term extended contract, Triple H texted them and asked whether they’d be interested in returning to WWE. The pair accepted and the rest is history.
