WWE is considering the idea of bringing Ronda Rousey back to the company's developmental brand, NXT.

With a renewed focus on NXT and the regular influx of main roster talent, WWE sees an opportunity to boost ratings and create buzz for the brand by sending top members of the roster to work with upcoming stars there.

The recent appearance of Seth Rollins on NXT, where he defended the World Heavyweight Championship, proved to be a successful experiment for WWE. As a result, the company is now considering Rousey as the next major star to make the jump to NXT. Such a move would likely generate excitement and potentially draw a larger audience for the Tuesday night show.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, discussions have taken place regarding Rousey's involvement in NXT, including the possibility of her teaming up with Shayna Baszler to defend the women's tag team titles on the brand. The goal behind using main roster stars in NXT is to capitalize on their star power and leverage their presence to increase viewership. Given the success of the Rollins experiment, it's natural for WWE to explore similar opportunities in the future.

“There are plans for more major stars to work NXT like Rollins did this week. One name that was at least talked about was Rousey, or perhaps even having Rousey & Baszler defend the women’s tag titles there. But the goal is to use the main roster stars to increase the ratings, and the Rollins experiment was a huge success, so when something works in wrestling the idea is that you usually follow up on it.”

In the meantime, Rousey and Baszler are scheduled to face Isla Dawn and Alba Fyre in a Women's Tag Team Championship unification match on SmackDown.
