GUNTHER will put his Intercontinental Championship on the line against Matt Riddle at WWE Money in the Bank 2023.
The leader of Imperium has dominated as Intercontinental Champion since capturing the title in June of last year and recently surpassed one year with the title. GUNTHER's reign has seen the Austrian retain against the lives of Shinsuke Nakamura and Braun Strowman, as well as have a five-star classic with Sheamus last September at Clash at the Castle. GUNTHER has also become the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of the 21st Century.
In recent weeks, Matt Riddle has proven to be a thorn in the side of GUNTHER and Imperium. Before this week's Raw, Riddle appeared in a digital media segment and made it clear he plans to take the title from GUNTHER at Money in the Bank.
