The NXT North American Championship is in the clutches of the Judgment Day following Dominik Mysterio's win on this week's NXT.
This week's NXT saw the black-and-gold brand continue to build toward its upcoming Great American Bash special event. That show will take place on July 30, from the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park, in Cedar Park, Texas.
On last week's episode of WWE NXT, the Judgment Day invaded the show and Dominik made it clear he was going to challenge for the North American title. In the main event of this week's show, Dominik was able to dethrone Wes Lee to win his first singles championship in WWE. Mysterio is also a former SmackDown Tag Team Champion, having held the gold with his father Rey.
Dominik's victory did not come without controversy, as the Judgment Day was at ringside and interfered during the match. The group, which consists of Finn Balor, Women's World Champion Rhea Ripley, and Mr. Money in the Bank Damian Priest, celebrated with Dominik after the match.

This victory marks the end of Wes Lee's impressive reign as NXT North American Champion. Lee captured the title at NXT Halloween Havoc in October of last year, and held the gold for a record 270 days.
With this victory, Dominik will go on to Great American Bash. A title match between Lee and Mustafa Ali had been announced for the show, but it is unclear how those plans will be affected given Dom's title victory.
