WWE Hall of Famer Booker T recently shared his thoughts on Big E revealing that he has been advised not to wrestle again.
The former WWE Champion is recuperating from a career-threatening neck injury that took place last year. He was involved in a tag team match alongside Kofi Kingston against Sheamus and Ridge Holland. A spot during the match saw Holland tossing Big E at ringside with a belly-to-belly suplex that went wrong. Holland dropped him on his head causing the injury. This led to Holland even receiving death threats.
The injury has cost him almost a year of his career. He sustained a Jefferson fracture (a fracture of the C1 vertebrae) and also fractured his C2. He was able to avoid neck fusion surgery. Back in April, he also dropped an update on his recovery.
During the WWE Summerslam 2023 media conference, Big E revealed that spine specialists advised him against stepping foot inside the ring. He said that he takes all advice seriously, and wants to be smart and make the best decision regarding his future.
During the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T said that he was sad to hear that E's in-ring career could come to an end. He said:
"It's a life-changing moment. That one spot in the ring definitely changed the whole name of the game. I'm sad, I'm sad to hear it, I must say that. I really liked Big E. He's one of the guys I always thought was really cool... I remember when Kofi won the [WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35], I remember talking to Big E. I said, 'Your time is gonna come, man.' I said, 'because, you're talented... you're definitely gonna make it to the next level,'" said Booker.
He added:
"That's why I hate to see something like this happen, but it's a cautionary tale at the same time to a lot of these young guys as far as going out there and throwing caution to the wind sometimes when you don't need to. I don't want to be sitting here blaming him for anything he did or anything like that, but what I am saying is for the next guy, for the next Big E, think about that and hopefully, somebody can learn from it."

Big E previously spoke about possibly being a trainer or scout for WWE in the future should his in-ring career end. He also helped scout talent for the promotion last November. He also has some other projects lined up amid his hiatus.
