Logan Paul believes the criticisms surrounding the caffeine levels and marketing of his PRIME Energy drink are "preposterous."

PRIME is a range of sports drinks, drink mixes, and energy drinks created and marketed by PRIME Hydration, and promoted by Paul and fellow YouTube personality KSI. The beverage, which includes flavors such as Blue Raspberry, Grape, Ice Pop, Lemonade, Lemon Lime, Meta Moon, Orange, Strawberry Watermelon, and Tropical Punch, was launched in January 2022.

PRIME has been a source of controversy in many countries, with the beverage being banned in New Zealand and banned in schools in the UK, South Africa, Australia, and Canada. Last month, U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer urged the FDA to investigate PRIME's high caffeine content. It was also alleged that unclear marketing that targets young people leads to parents purchasing a "cauldron of caffeine" for them.

Paul, who re-signed with WWE in April of this year, is far from pleased with the criticism of his energy drink. Speaking to FOX News, the Maverick shared his view that the claims of unclear marketing don't hold much merit.

"That's preposterous. One is in a can and it says 'energy drink' on it, the other is in a bottle and says 'Hydration drink' on it. One is 18+, the other is suitable for all ages... we've done as good of a job as we can differentiating the products. Our energy product says 18+ on the label, it's also marketed 18+ on every single social media we do."

Addressing the 200mg of caffeine in Prime Energy, Paul described it as "nothing revolutionary or out of the ordinary." Paul mentioned Senator Schumer by name in his fiery response, asking why other products such as chocolate or soda aren't being targeted due to their caffeine content.

The self-professed 'Bad Guy' of WWE, Paul debuted in 2021 and would sign with WWE the following year. After suffering an injury at WWE Crown Jewel 2022, Paul returned to the ring at this year's Royal Rumble, and even has his own limited-edition action figure. Paul's most recent match saw him defeat Ricochet at SummerSlam and the Maverick had praise for his opponent after the match.
