A former WWE developmental star will spend 153 days in jail after he strangled a driver while in the backseat of the vehicle.
Kyle Rasmussen was released from WWE in late 2010 and competed in a developmental capacity as Conrad Tanner. Rasmussen signed with WWE in 2009 following a tryout and joined the promotion with a background in Michigan State football. As part of Florida Championship Wrestling, he worked with talent including Big E, Wade Barrett, Titus O'Neil, and others. In more recent years he has worked as a fitness trainer.
Rasmussen was arraigned in November of last year on charges of assault to do great bodily harm less than murder or by strangulation. In addition to his 153 prison sentence, Rasmussen must also serve two years of probation in connection to the crime. He originally entered a plea of not guilty but later changed to no contest, meaning he accepted the result of the conviction but did not admit guilt.
On October 29, 2022, Rasmussen was riding in the backseat of a 2012 Chevrolet in Rochester Hills, when he tried to grab the steering wheel and strangle the 31-year-old male driver. The driver stopped the vehicle and was able to flee the area.
Rasmussen's girlfriend, Sarah Ratliff, was also in the vehicle and ran away from the truck at this time. While fleeing, Ratliff was struck by a vehicle 100 feet from the incident and died shortly after the incident at a local hospital.
